My Copenhagen

As a capital city, Copenhagen is anything but big. I mean, compared to Paris or London one might say that Copenhagen is small. That is actually one of the things I like about the city, it's very nice and manageable. Tourists have a hard time getting lost and you can get everywhere on a bike. Due to the size, it has a homely feel to it and this is why this city seems so nice. There are certain things that I can't stand, for instance some dog owners don't feel it's their duty to pick up whatever gift their dogs left on the sidewalk. It has gotten better over the years but there are certain areas in the city that are notoriously known for this!

What I especially like about this place is the mix of old, traditional buildings and the new modern architectural pearls. 200 years ago, Copenhagen used to be a lot smaller, therefore there is even a "summer" residence known as Rosenborg castle in the middle of the city which used to be on the outskirts. Here are a couple of buildings that can be seen here. Denmark is relatively known for Design and architecture.

The Opera, The royal library(black diamond) and the Royal theatre.

Yes, I know that this has nothing to do with Copenhagen, but I snapped a few shots of me and my grandma (maternal) the other day. She had a stroke a few years back so she is bound to a wheelchair and can walk a little with a cane. She helped raise me and my siblings. I feel so fortunate to have not only my parents but my grandparents and my aunt raise us. Hopefully we didn't turn out to be bad seeds! :) Before the stroke she was the best cook! Noone ever taught her but it was after a lifetime of cooking that she had become so skilled. Unfortunately I didn't appreciate it enough so I only learnt 2-3 dishes from her. By the time I wanted to learn it was too late. I love her dearly!
