Only in Denmark...

I was on my way home from the supermarket, grocery bag in hand when I turned the corner and starting walking down my street. I stopped and almost dropped the bag because the sight that met my eyes was to die for!

Only in a non English-speaking country can this happen. I suppose Damm (pronounced DAAHM) is the surname of the person behind the bus tours... but still this was too funny. So I rushed home to get my camera so that you, my viewers could see this with your own eyes.

Hope you enjoyed it! ^^

No more buys until November!!!

I am so excited and almost can't wait for November to come. (Wow that's gotta be a first)

The reason for that is simply because H&M this time has decided to collaborate with Jimmy Choo, yes ladies you heard me right. At selected stores on November 14th the H&M/Jimmy Choo will be available.

I almost skip-hopped down the road when I first found out a while ago and I've also had Choo dreams lately. I can't wait to buy pairs and pairs of Choo's at "H&M" prices, so I just thought I'd want to share this although I'm pretty sure most of you already know about this.

According to hm.com not only will the collection span over shoes but some clothes as well and for men there will be shoes bags and accesories.

I'm as excited as a little girl waiting for her birthday to come...only I'm not really a little girl anymore and birthday is several months away... But I'm still excited!!! \(^o^)/

I know for sure I'll be acting like a madwoman on November 14th. Anyone with me?? ^^

Attempt at Rock Chick! (repost of older entry from ABB)

I was just flipping through some of my older entries, laughing at my crappy photo skills from the beginning of ABB, when i came across this entry that I had almost forgotten about. I really liked this look on me and since it's never been posted here on my blog, I thought I'd post it here.

I think I'll be posting some of my older entries from time to time starting with this one.

Copy pasted from my entry on asianbeautyblog

Hey Lovelies! ^_^

I was flipping through a magazine the other day when the gorgeous and unique face of Kate Moss pops into my eyes. I've always liked the way that rock chicks do their make-up. Heavily lined eyes or really dark make-up. That slept in, sexy look that they seem to have patent pended.

And... yes, I'm fully aware that I'm not Kate Moss, nor do I like like her, due to various, obvious reasons, but a girl can still admire her looks and make-up.

Kate Moss make-up attempt below!

Products used:
Lancôme khôl pencil liner between upper lashes
Maybelline Sky high curves waterproof mascara
MAC Smolder eye pencil, lined upper and lower lashes. Then smudged with a q-tip and lined again.
MAC Nehru and Scene e/s on top of Smolder eyeliner to set it.

MAC Freckletone on lips. Rest of the make-up in face was kept to neutral colors and/or minimum since the eyes were in focus.

Thanks for looking!! ^_^

Birthday last week

So, my sister told me not to make any plans on my birthday because she wanted to take me out for dinner. We hadn't celebrated our birthdays together last year due to us being situated in different countries so this year she wanted to spend that day with me. I had to push my plans to celebrate with friends a couple of weeks ahead and the two of us went out that night.

I love this look on my face, it's all serene because we splurged on some really good red wine.

For starters we got beef carpaccio with cherry tomatoes and mozarella drizzled with olive oil, YUM!

Woops! Almsot forgot to take pictures, was halfways through with it before remembering.

Done! I'm not a big fan of olives...can you tell?

Their homemade, hand-cut fries. They were SOOO good!

My sister got the "meat special" Haha, no it's not called that but it's a small pot with: veal, bacon, sausages and a few vegetables in a delicious sauce.

I had old-fashioned duck. It was really delicious actually. When it was served I was a little apprehensive because it looked a little dry but when I cut it it was really tender.

Dessert, a delicious vanilla ice cream with pineapple, melon, kiwi whipped cream and chocolate sauce. We were rather full by then and couldn't handle one of the bigger, more elaborate desserts so we settled for this to share.

A random pic taken by my sis. ^^

Thanks for a lovely evening sis!

In the army...

So... I probably haven't mentioned this before but my brother joined the army (no, it's not voluntary and yes you get to pick a number. If the number you picked is above something something you can get out, if not then you're enlisted unless there is something wrong with your "health") But yes, my brother was enlisted and he is going to become a Royal Danish life guard, meaning that he'll be protecting her majesty the Queen of Denmark at some point. Last Saturday was Open house day and we got to see how they live and what they usually do in a normal day. The Three Musketeers aka me and my siblings. I'm the oldest (left) and my sister(right) is 3 years younger than me. My brother is 6 years younger than me and the tallest out of the bunch. I'm 5'6" which is an okay height but my sis just stopped growing when she reached 17...

The two official uniforms they're supposed to wear when standing guard. The red uniform dates back many many years when design was more important than practicality. Can you see what I mean when I say that the red uniform looks like a target especially with the big white cross in the middle? Not exactly camouflage-y when crouching behind a bush! (I wonder who designed it? Yeah it has the national colors on it but that doesn't justify it)

Here I am, shooting a rifle. Amazingly enough I got 5 out of 5, yay! Maybe I can do something cool like become a sniper! Just keeding! I don't have the patience and don't have a clue of how to take the humidity, the wind or coriolis effect into consideration.

During the morning check-up in their rooms, a sergeant also checked their water flasks. Since their supposed to be empty and all, they usually "pour" the contents over their heads, unfortunately for some of the guys they apparently forgot about it. Haha!

All in all a nice day where I got to see a lot of young boys in uniform *drool* Haha, just keeding, they're too young for me ... ... or are they? (^o^) lol

Schadenfreude

I remember a while ago reading a newspaper article about how the results of a recent Australian survey showed that most people feel schadenfreude, which roughly means taking pleasure at others misfortune.

... and this is supposed to be new findings? Uh... hello? I mean come on! I know for sure that I would have to stifle my laughter should someone actually slip on a banana peel in the street. Not sure if it was the person slipping I would laugh of or the entire situation that it was actually possible to slip on a banana peel XD.

Seriously, why is it that reality tv is so popular these days? Exactly because of that. It seems that we love watching various shows on tv that for instance picture battles that morbidly obese people go through to get healthy and thin, people undergo extensive surgery only to be bedridden for weeks on end for a more physically attractive appearance and let's not forget about shows like X Factor and American Idol: the show where hundreds of contestants are humiliated on television in front of millions of viewers.

The purpose of all these shows? Schadenfreude, nothing more and nothing less. Just take a look at viewer ratings and it's clear that this kind of entertainment is just about what we want to watch. It all boils down to us, as viewers, sitting comfortably on our @!#%¤ in front of the tv, thinking "thank the heavens that's not me on display"!

The survey even stated that it's typically people with low self-esteem that seem to derive most pleasure from schadenfreude. The lower your selfesteem is the more pleasure you feel from other peoples misfortune.

In case you didn't know before, now it's scientifically proven. Reality-shows appeal to the lowest denominator, something we all, myself included, have watched.

Maybe it's about time we watch someone who's actually good at what they do... but then again, where's the fun in that?? ;)
